21st June 2014 - ca. 400 Football Fans follow the World Cup match
Ca. 400 football fans watched the game Germany against Ghana on the big screen set up in the Anna Katharina Parish in Coesfeld. Whether wearing the German kit, waving the German flag or with their faces painted in the German colours – the fans were well prepared.
Children could get their cheeks painted in the colours black, red and gold. “Bateria de CoeCoe” from Coesfeld set everyone in the mood with their Samba rhythms.
Before the game, the „One World Group“ for Ghana presented their work. By their side was Monsignor Thomas Anamooh from Navrongo, currently residing in Ibbenbüren. Top of the list of current projects is the concreting of the school yard to make is usable all year round. Proceeds from the public viewing of the football game will go towards this.
Alfred Their from the Organisation Team thanked everyone from the neighbourhoods who helped set up and run the event. Alfred also thanked our sponsors - VR Bank Westmünsterland, Baustoffallianz West, Ebbing bakery, Damhus Sausages, Car Dealership Leifkes, Hamelmann wood supplies, Sasol Germany GmbH, Ahlert Mill and Aloys Lütke Sunderhaus.
For the “One World Group” and therefore also for our partner in Navrongo Ghana it was a very successful event.
With some of the funds from the viewing of this game, we were able to send 42 footballs along with football pumps to Navrongo. The balls were distributed amongst the parish, schools and Aids orphanage.
